Let us say I have a fantasy T-Rex or two encounter, what would be some creative ways defeating/neutralizing them?
Obviously just beat on them with melee, ranged and spell damage works eventually, but I’m looking for something clever maybe particularly aimed at it T-Rexness.
Background: I have a player that loves to Polymorph party members into T-Rexs during battles. Which is fine, but I'd like to give them a surprise or two to make them think about it. I don't need (or want) to kill them, just create a "Darn, I didn't consider that T-Rex vulnerability."

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Xanathar's Guide to Everything has a cool spell called Enemies Abound that you might try. Target has to make an Intelligence saving throw or become unable to tell friend from foe for 1 minute (requires concentration). While they can't tell friend from foe, they have to select a target at random each time they try to attack.
That would be fun except for the whole 500 lbs limit =(
Oh. Sorry. I’m still getting use to all these. Come to think of it though, that’s why i got rid of it on my Sorlock, just took misty step and became an actor instead of Fey Touched.

They have low mental stats. So any effect or spell targeting them will work more often.
Hold monster for easy crits.
Polymorph them into a bunny.
Etc, etc.

It's major claw is Intelligence so go for Intelligence Saves. It really depends on how cruel you want to be.
You could restrain them with Mental Prison, or you could frustrate them with Synaptic Static.
I wouldn't recommend it, but if you really wanted to troll them, there's always Feeblemind.

If it's a known thing, like the party is legend for this, their opponents know and set up pit traps.
Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Pit traps and also take advantage of the fact that T-Rexes have no ranged attack options and no ability to fit into cramped spaces.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. I'll put some of them to good use.
