I am looking at which version of the upcoming 2024 rulebooks to buy (physical, digital, both or neither) and I was trying to figure out something.
If I just wanted to buy the digital versions of the new rulebooks, what info would I actually be getting access to that wouldn't be on D&D Beyond or freely available as part of the SRD? For instance, the classes and species and feats and spells will all appear on D&D Beyond same as they do currently for 2014 rulebooks. I understand the benefit of having it all to hand and laid out nicely in a real physical book, but I'm just trying to figure out what I would actually be getting from the purely digital versions that won't just be freely accessible online. Is the only real difference art and formatting? Or is there actual info and rules in the books that won't appear on the website or in the SRD?
However, extrapolating from the current versions, you'll gain an additional 36 subclasses by buying the PHB (1 per class is free, which means 3 per class as premium). The rest I'm a bit more blurry on, but some species won't be free, some spells, virtually feats etc. The main advantages of buying on DDB v physical is the character builder and space saved in your shelf

We won't know until the SRD releases.
