Will the new 2024 Rulebooks make all other versions redundant ? I have only recently purchased the 5E Players Handbook.
Is there any facility to play online ? I cannot find many groups local to myself and this would be a super alternative if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Since this is your first message here perhaps you didn't notice DnDBeyond has an online group finder section. I have never used it but will leave the link if you'd like to give it a try.

Just to answer this bit.
It depends on how you define "redundant". If you want to play the latest edition (and I imagine most new games will soon be in that category), then sort of. There will still be subclasses, feats etc that you can use, but the PHB, MM & DMG will be largely replaced by the new versions of them over the next seven months.
However, there will always be games played using them just like there are still 1e games, 2e games etc. I don't see why 5e would be any different. It'll just become harder to find games using those books because the bulk of players will switch to 2024e.
All other books will be mostly in use.

Hello,
Just a couple of quick questions ...
Will the new 2024 Rulebooks make all other versions redundant ? I have only recently purchased the 5E Players Handbook.
Is there any facility to play online ? I cannot find many groups local to myself and this would be a super alternative if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Many thanks in advance.
Lee.
We don't know how the new books will be implemented online other than that both will be supported.
Roll20 has a game finder and startplaying.games is another place to find online games. There is usually a fee, but there's some free games, too.
