How do I add characters I havre already created to a campaign? For example, I created a campaign, and it only allows me to create an unassigned character within that campaign, but there is no option to port already made characters into that campaign. Do I have to redo all of those characters with the “create unassigned characters” option?!
When you follow the campaign's join link, you'll have the option to add a a character from your collection. (As long as they're not in another campaign already)
Does this method also work if I am the DM, creating “unclaimed” characters?
Yes. I think you have to remove yourself from the character after the import, but it does work. I did this for a player recently and made the character myself.

Thank you for your reply!

Awesome!
I will try that method asap, as it sounds plausible.
I just wish that Dndbeyond made that explicit on the campaign page, or somewhere else even.
Your method worked! Thanks again. It should not be so complicated, but at least there was a way to do it!
