With Wizards announcing that they will retroactively be altering your spells and magic items, there are some critical time-sensitive steps you can take to preserve what you have.
This is especially important for things that are difficult or impossible to build with the homebrew toolset.
The Process
Hover over 'Collections' and click '(+) Create New Spell'
Select Acid Arrow (the first spell alphabetically) under Core Rules.
Click the big Create button
Replace "COPY_OF_" with something meaningful to you, like "(5e) " or "Legacy "
Scroll down and select 'Save Changes'
Repeat for Acid Splash through Zone of Truth
You should also do this for Magic items since those will be changing in a few days as well. The process is functionally identical except for Step 1 where you select '(+) Create Magic Item'
Once you've completed this for your spells and magic items, you will have an entire redundant compendium of spells. WOTC will not be including your archived spells in their 2024 updates, but will graciously foot the bill to store that data. This isn't some exploit or TOS violation, it's what they have specifically asked us to do here.
I don't claim to understand why they'd rather pay to store several copies of the entire 5e spell and magic item catalog than just use legacy tags, but we can't force cost-effective business decisions upon them.
