I'm very interested in playing around with the new 2024 PHB rules and as a Master Tier subscriber it says I should be getting a 2-week early access for these rules, however I can't seem to figure out whether I still need to buy the digital edition of the new PHB or if it should automatically apply to my account. I know the official release of the book itself is the 17th - but assuming all goes well I'll be attending a one-shot for a launch event at a local game store using the updated rules and I wanted to be able to play around with the character creation prior to this rather than scrambling to make a character on the day of the launch.
So what is the deal? Do I need to buy the new digital edition of the PHB in order to get the early access to the new rules? Should I have access already? Is it not early access time yet? I tried making a new character with all my homebrew and expanded rules turned off but it seems like the new rules aren't there yet, or if they are I'm not sure how to use them (trying to make a Trickery Cleric to see how it goes).
Yes you will have to buy it to have any access, if you do not buy it you will not have any access, if you do and you have a master tier sub then you get the early access.

First make sure you're logged in. Next, go to Account. Then go to Licenses. If you have it, it will be listed there.
I pre-ordered, so this is how it shows for me.
Player’s Handbook (2024) (Pre-order) Early access: 03 September 2024 17:00 UTC
As was previously mentioned, there is a free limited version. A solid work around (since you have the Master Tier) is to join a dummy campaign with sharing on with someone who already have the 2024 Versions.
I would not do sharing with strangers, for obvious reasons :-)
I just bought the new PHB preorder, I was planning to get it anyway I just wasn't sure what stuff was going to be unlocked with the master tier and so on.

Would appreciate some clarification, thanks!
You can buy the PHB before others.
If you don't you can still use the D&D Free Rules (2024) to make a character with those options.
