Any ideas why it's been released just the setting's handbook of Symbaroum? I would like to get the whole stuff, not just the setting, which really makes no sense in beyond if you don't have backgrounds, classes, feats, etc.
I was wondering something similar. Honestly DDB isn't a great way to read a book compared to physical or even just a pdf on a decent reader so releasing this with no character or encounter options, the stuff that DDB does do well, does feel like a very odd choice. I guess releasing it without that stuff probably made it an easy thing to add though
D&D Beyond does not seem to currently have the development capacity to get a lot of the stuff they've already released working properly, so adding in new stuff is probably not a high priority right now.
I assumed that it just used 5e stuff a d was a setting in a similar way that Ravenloft is - a place to play 5e using normal D&D subclasses etc.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Well, a core rulebook is a big task. The 5.5e PH, DMG, and MM were released months apart, for that reason. So I just figured they're releasing this book now because it's ready now and they'll release the others when those are ready.
But it would be nice if there were updates on when to expect that.
Maybe those that are seeking more lore will buy it but I just don't personally see the value of this product here on D&DBeyond vs just having a PDF or physical book instead.
Looking at the website, the problem seems to be that the associated subclasses are associated with new (to 5e) classes. Whether they'll release a player pack with the new classes etc is anyone's guess.

I've been super curious about Symbaroum ever since I first saw the art style of the game. I peeked at the original rules, but they seemed a bit complicated. If they're doing a 5e/d20 version of the game, I would be all in, in a heartbeat.
Maybe WotC could build a site like SymbaroumBeyond to support that game the way this site supports DnD. That'd be awesome.
We don't know what happened behind the curtains when they were negotiating the deal. Ruins of Symbarious is a setting of low-magic-level with its own classes. It was not designed to be compatible with the rest of D&D multiverse.
Maybe the intentions by the publishers Free League is to use D&D-Beyond like a showcase to promote their franchise. Or they are going to publish an update of Ruins of Symbarium.

Anzio Faro. Protector Aasimar light cleric. Lvl 18.
Viktor Gavriil. White dragonborn grave cleric. Lvl 20.
Ikram Sahir ibn-Malik al-Sayyid Ra'ad. Brass dragonborn draconic sorcerer Lvl 9. Fire elemental devil.
Wrangler of cats.
I could see it as a measuring stick to see if there is enough interest through sales for the full book.
