Edit: Also, if it helps, I can tell you about my character. She loves animals and would do anything to protect them.
I've found this site to be helpful in coming up with names that sound like they belong to a particular species/background: https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/
You might want to start with something from there and tweak it a little to fit your specific character better.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out that site for inspiration. If I find any names I like, I’ll share them here to see what you all think!
Will edit this if I find a name I really like from that.
Edit: I'm liking this one it came up with - Selphie Elabella - Do you think it fits?
Well, I may be switching from an Elf to a Satyr. But would the name Selphie Elabella still fit? Or maybe a variation? Or does it not fit at all? I want your honest opinions!
…honestly, in my opinion, Selphie sounds too much like taking a selfie to be taken too seriously. Unless there is a deeper meaning behind this for your character (like she’s an artist or something), I might consider even dropping it and going with just Elabella. Certain races ingame tend to have or go by just one name. I’m not certain if Saytr do or not, but I could imagine a world where they do, either all their life or when one becomes a Satyr (if they do somehow.)
It’s worth noting that according to Greek mythology they are only male, but what they are in DnD is rather different, so use your judgement on that.
Thanks for the feedback! I hadn’t considered the association with 'selfie.' I do like the idea of a single name for a Satyr, so I might go with just Elabella. I’m thinking about her character as someone deeply connected to nature and perhaps a bit whimsical, which might fit better with a simpler name. Any suggestions for a first name that might match that vibe?
Old Celtic names always fit elves and druids. Usually I don't chose names, rather words as names. A dictionary of science, a dictionary of religion, etc.
That's a really interesting approach! I love the idea of using words or concepts as names—it's a unique way to add depth to a character. Do you have any specific resources or examples of old Celtic names that you find particularly fitting for elves or druids? I’d love to explore that further!
Edit: Would this name be good? - Nàdara Elabella. I chose "Nàdar," which is Scottish Gaelic for nature, as I thought it would fit well for a Druid.
Thanks for sharing the link! I’ll definitely explore it for more name ideas. Do you have any favorites from the site that you think would work well for an Elven (or Satyr) Druid?

I'm working on an Elven Druid and I’m struggling to find the perfect name for her. I’d love some suggestions or tips on how to create a name that fits her character and background. If you’re interested in helping out, I also have a thread about animal companions and race considerations: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/class-forums/druid/210088-druid-animal-companions-and-race-considerations
Thanks in advance for your ideas!
