I've not used D&D Beyond for quite some time, just returned when the 2024 books came out. When you create a character, do you not pick your level-1 origin feat until after you finish and get to the character sheet? Is it not part of the creation step-by-step process? The handful of characters I created I had to pick my origin feat once I was done with the step-by-step process and got a little confused if I had missed it somewhere.
Sorry if this has been asked before, I was just curious and couldn't find the answer anywhere. Thanks in advance for the help.
If you're using one of the 2024 character backgrounds then the origin feat is a default one for that background and gets applied automatically at the background step of character creation. If you're using an older background then with a couple of exceptions there is no default and you need to add it after creation by going to Features and Traits on the character sheet and clicking Manage Feats at the bottom
Thank you CunningSmile, I must have been creating them and choosing the older backgrounds. I did a test this afternoon and purposely chose a new background and saw the feat added. I appreciate the help with this.
My pleasure. In order to get the 2024 rules working without dumping 2014 the site has basically had to double everything up so you’re far from the only person who has been choosing the wrong options and wondering why it doesn’t seem to be working. Glad you sorted it out
