I have a rather simple question, and I couldn't seem to find it anywhere on the forums. I have all three core rulebooks (Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manual) as physical books. Can I somehow redeem them in here, so I don't have to buy the books "again" so to speak, and unlock the features on the website?
D&D Beyond is a retailer, the same as your FLGS, or Amazon, only they provide a digital version of the rule books.
If you don’t want to pay twice for the same books, you can always homebrew the missing subclasses, races and feats. You won’t be able to share them with the community, but you will still be able to share with your gaming group. Or you could only buy the parts that you really need: i.e. for a Duergar Battlerager, with the tough feat, you could buy only Duergar and Battlerager from the SCAG, and Though, from the PHB.
Also any item bought from a book, reduce the price of that book. So if over the span of a year you bought a few items from a given book because you only needed those, you may end up needing to pay only a few bucks to purchase the whole book.
