Maybe I am missing a trick
If you open your character in a browser, you can see the character number in the URL
e.g. dndbeyond.com/characters/1234blah
is there any way to get that number from inside the mobile app?
What is the purpose you need it for? There may be other ways.

It is so players can use their public URL in an application, without having to log into the dndbeyond website in a browser.
Obviously we can get them to use the website as a workaround, its just a pain when they only use the app.
