I have a habit of making new characters when bored and got a fun idea, any suggestions appreciated:
Abyssal tiefling, dragonic sorcerer/fey warlock
my idea was to play the child of an infamous toxic bard. So that’s how he ends up with a tiefling with dragons blood (bad old relationships). Then the bard would trade the child to the fey, resulting in an arch fey or hag raising the child as their own. Figured this way, with mostly sorcerer levels but probably about 6 levels warlock, you’d get lots of spells, high AC, good health and two damage resistances
But I’m having trouble thinking of a name for them. Probably depends on if Dad or “Grandma” named them, but was thinking something like “gift, burden, child, thing” etc
Trial, Hope, Scorn, Trudge and Misery with the next generation being Courage, Stain, Triumph and Jubilee.
Depending on what was happening in their lives at the time. In the downtrodden years they gave hopeful names, in the blessed years they gave more humble names to keep misfortune from returning.

A character with a backstory like that should have multiple names. They'd have their birth name, their fey name, the name they chose for themselves when they sealed their pact/returned from the Feywild...
If you're stumped on a classic tiefling name though, I'm a big fan of playing the irony card. Pick something that means the opposite of what the baby actually meant to mom, or what she wished they represented
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Active characters:
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)

I like Tiefling names, in one lineage I have:
Trial, Hope, Scorn, Trudge and Misery with the next generation being
Courage, Stain, Triumph and Jubilee.

I hadn’t considered picking multiple names! Great for flavor, but now I have more to pick lol
I like the idea of the Bard picking Scorn for a boy Mistake for a girl.
Mistake will probably win because I like the idea of a tiefling named Missy
