As the title of this inquiry is about the Legacy version of the Polymorph Spell, I will also assume that you are referring to the Legacy version of the Sun Blade.
Per the item's description, here is what it states to control it;
Bonus Action: Make the Blade Appear or Disappear
Action: Expand or Reduce the blade's light radius (5' per action; Max of 30ft and Min of 10ft)
So, if a creature was carrying the Sun Blade and it was activated and shining, then someone else cast Polymorph on them the sword would still be shining, BUT, the Polymorph spell specifically states that "The target's gear melds into the new form. The creature can't activate, use, wield, or otherwise benefit from any of its equipment."
Soooooo, if I was the DM, I'd say that the Sun Blade melded into the new form and if the player wanted to know what happened to the sword, I'd say the magic of the strength of the Polymorph spell and that it molds equipment into the new form is strong enough to turn off the sword, or maybe I'd make one paw of a creature glow slightly. It depends on what is happening at the table at the moment and the situation the party was in.
If you are the Player, check with your DM. If you are the DM, let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers!

If a creature is carrying a sun blade is polymorphed into another form, does the effect of the sun blade terminate?
According to the item description, a Sun Blade only deactivates if the person holding it uses a bonus action to deactivate it.
