I was looking into buying the 2024 Players handbook on DNDB, and I noticed that there was a difference between the price on the website and the price on the app. Does anyone know why? The site shoes that it's 29.99, while the app has it for 37.99.
they sale the Printed, Their Digital copy and combo. plus, at various times they will discount usually only the Printed version. (a quick buck game) i don't think the app version gets all the good deals. u got to remember the app is kind of limited and for quick access only. i would only purchase using the actual website in any case. much safer. just my thoughts on this all.
The website is charging the correct amount ($29.99) according to the OP, it's the app that's charging odd amounts. As such, it's very doubtful that it's the wrong selection on the part of the user or it's to do with deals - especially since it seems to be giving the correct price and the app is "wrong".
I'm guessing that it's this: The app price is generally not altered. They put in the price for the region when the book is added to the store and very rarely change it. Either it costs money to do so or it's considered too much effort and so it's not worth doing. As a result, at least in areas that don't use the dollar (and possible ones that do) the prices of the app and the website don't synch up. For example, it's actually cheaper for me to get at least one of the books through the app than through the website. Most likely, it was entered as a logical amount at the time, but the market changed but the prices in the app haven't changed to reflect that.
If it's not that, I don't know. Generally speaking, the website is better to buy through anyway - it takes minutes rather than days for you to get your product, so i wouldn't worry.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
The app runs through whatever marketplace your device uses (Play Store or App Store) and as such will not only display prices in local currency, but also apply sales tax where possible based on your global location (but AFAIK not US state-based sales tax). I think it may also apply the surcharge for the app store/play store, but I'm not 100% on that

Also, the store generally puts you on the wrong tab. Make sure you're actually buying what you think you're buying.
