Hi, everyone. I'm sorry if this is a very basic question but I'm preparing my character sheet for my first oneshot and I'd like to add a lantern with upcast Continual Flame (DM approved) to my character sheet and I can't find how to do it. If someone can tell me how, I would be very thankful, or maybe it can't be done and it's just communicated to the DM? Thanks in advance :)
D&D Beyond's character builder doesn't have any built-in support for items having spells cast on them, but you can customize the name of the item (just click on the item and then click "Customize" in the sidebar that pops up) if all you need to do is make a note of it.
What is the benefit of having it cast at 3rd level compared to 2nd level it shouldn't have any effect whatsoever on a darkness spell after the initial casting of the spell.

It prevents it from being canceled by the Darkness spell, which dispels light-creating spells of level 2 or lower.

Maybe shoot for 4th level, no one is throwing an upcasted Dispel Magic at a light source.

Thank you for the help. I've been trying to find out the solution for way too long xD

I only have 3rd lvl spell slots. But that's something to keep in mind, thank you. The lantern is more for flavor than anything, really.
