I've read different posts and watched different videos on what spells people would choose if D&D was real, but I have a different question I'd like to ask.
What race would you want to be in real life?
For the purpose of this question you don't have to turn into that race. You will gain their abilities and stats. So, what would you choose?
For myself I was thinking either a Aereni High Elf or maybe the Changeling race.
Aereni High Elf: Darkvision, 700+ year lifespan, 1 Wizard Cantrip, Expertise in 1 Skill or Tool, Proficiency in Perception, Advantage against being charmed, +3 Languages, +2 Dexterity, and +1 Intelligence.
Changeling: Shapeshifting, Expertise in 1 Tool, Proficient in 2 Skills, Advantage on Deception checks, +3 Languages, +2 Charisma, and +1 Intelligence.
Either races abilities would be awesome to have in real life.
"You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend." ― Bruce Lee
Definitely Aereni High Elf. My night vision sucks, I would love 4+ extra hours of consciousness, mage hand for cantrip, I make poor health choices so a guaranteed longer lifespan would be reassuring, I would love to have even 1 extra language, and expertise in a tool is an automatic career.

Elf for the long, healthy lifespan. What I could do if I lived that long and was healthy for another several centuries!

Okay Tim, but what subrace?
Yeah probably an Elvin Druid to live forever. Plus I could turn into a bird and flying sounds pretty fun!
Only race, no class.
I wanna be handsome like High Elf lol

Tabaxi would be a laugh.
Absolutely I would have to choose Changeling though.

Good answer DxJxC
Genasi all the way, either air or fire
Forest Gnome Darkvision, Minor Illusion, Critterspeak and I could fit in a subcompact car and make it feel like a limo lol.
