I purchased the PHB when it released and the DMG a short while ago, still lacking the MM. I wonder if there's any way to get the third book at a discount since I would still purchase the bundle, even if it's in parts or if I'm out of luck.
Email customer service. I'm skeptical - the discount is for you committing to buy all three rather than buying one then maybe not buying the others., but sometimes customer care can be golden. Worth a try, but I wouldn't get your hopes up either.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Thanks for the very quick reply. My expectations are very low of course, but I figure it can't hurt to ask. I know some companies do this anyway. Will report back with their response.
Very unlikely, they don't even honor discounts they advertised as a reason to buy bundles anymore, I can't see them doing it for something they never advertised.
What laws or rules say that a business has to give a bundle discount when the customer chose not to buy the bundle and instead bought the items individually over time?
Might come as a surprise, but some actually offer more than just what they are legally required to.
FWIW, the post you are ostensibly responding to was in response to a different post (which is now gone) that mentioned something about lawsuits and the consumer protection bureau such...
Can confirm, as expected. "Unfortunately, we can’t offer a bundle discount when the 2024 Monster Manual is purchased on its own even you previously purchased the 2024 Player's Handbook and 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide. The discount only applies if all 2024 core rulebooks are bought together in a single order."
And I just noticed that during their current summer sale, they removed some of the bundles they offer (like Flee Mortals + Where Evil Lives), because they don't want people to save too much. Sigh.
On the contrary: since discounts don’t stack, they removed the bundle with the lesser discount to ensure that anyone purchasing those books would get the better sale discount instead.
This is true given that wotc reneged on the well documented and long advertised 10-15 % bundle discount stacking with sale prices for ALL FUTURE PURCHASES OF RULE AND ADVENTURE BOOKS!!
So greasy and shameful to those that bought in and were lied to.
I mean, these are 3PP books, so they wouldn't be subject to WotC's policy for their own fully own products in the first place. If you're going to rage at anyone over it, you should probably be raging at the 3PP. Or is it only some great egregious and unconscionable sin when a large corporation does it?

The PHB, DM, and MM are 3PP books?!
Also who is raging?
Yes it is an "unconscionable sin" when a corporation crawfishes on a marketing promise!

The topic of discount stacking came to here, with the example of Flee Mortals and Where Evil Lies. These are 3PP books.
Yes the 3pp books were mentioned as a side bar, far from the main topic, and wholly unrelated to the discount stacking that was so ungraciously taken from those that bought the bundles that advertised it in good faith 🙄
They were literally the most recent topic. Just because they don’t support the points you want to make doesn’t mean it’s bad faith to respond to how they fit into this picture.
Hi everyone,

This sounds like the kind of customer service that dndbeyond was known for back in the day, but seems to go directly against their current policies.
Very unlikely, they don't even honor discounts they advertised as a reason to buy bundles anymore, I can't see them doing it for something they never advertised.
See this thread.

Some sure, DDB under WotC doesn't even do what they advertise they will do.

Ah, that makes more sense.

Bad faith or not, it is clearly pushing narrative to caption a footnote in a post as the main point of the thread.
No, it was responding to the current topic, rather than one that hadn’t been discussed in more than a week.
