Wild Beyond the Witchlight has a free Adventurers League prelude, Lost Things, which is a one-shot where the players play child versions of their adult characters. It's extremely fun, doesn't require making a whole character sheet, and is designed to be a good intro to DnD. And then WBTW is a very fun module, of course. https://xender.vip/
Do you have Spelljammer Academy? It was a very good prequel (I use that term extremely loosely) to Light of Xaryxis...and apparently it's better than LoX (I played SA, not LoX, so I can't compare, but SA is really good). It has four adventures, each of which could be a one shot.
