Limited Origin Feats for 2024 Humans

I was doing a test build and when I chose the new human species from the 2024 PHB, I found that the origin feat option only had a few feats listed, as compared to the 2014 Variant Human who had access to pretty much any feat available to the player

Is this limited number of feats an intentional design choice, or is it just a glitch?

It’s intentional design. An Origin Feat is a particular category of feat- they’re the ones tied to the 2024 PHB backgrounds. Most feats are now classified as General Feats, and require a character be level 4 or higher to take them to emphasize they are not available as character creation options.

Also, if you don't own the 24 PHB, the list of origin feats is limited to the ones in the free rules, which is only a third of them IIRC.
