I’m planning on making a yuan-ti trickster cleric. I know it doesn’t fit mechanically, but I was wondering how I would role play it. I was thinking of being one and trying to convert others to his religion while undercover as a human. How does that sound?
Depends on how receptive your play group is to that sort of thing. It could be interesting though. I'd suggest a lot of pontificating about how many of the good things that happen to the party are the result of your deity. Maybe play up its divine power during healing sessions or when consulting your god during scrying rituals. Make it seem fun or, at the very least, benign to worship your god. Play up its strengths.
