I'm looking for some 1st level Eberron Pregens for Monday, anyone care to share a character they've made there. It might get used on a podcast I'll be on running a 5e Eberron game.
Okay, I went through the PC pregens in Khyber's Harvest (4e) and converted them to the level 1 fifth edition characters, focusing on the Personality Traits and flavor (they might be not the most powerful mechanically). The "Backstory" section in Notes is directly lifted from the original.
I'm not sure you are able to access Personal Characteristics with my link (for some strange reason). I'll copypaste them there, just in case.
Dwarf Paladin [House Agent (Kundarak)]
A proud heir of House Kundarak and champion of the Sovereign Host, you use your dragonmark to protect the weak and innocent from the depredations of evil, not just to ward the riches of the wealthy. This puts you at odds with some members of your house, but you were meant to ward, and called by the gods to a higher purpose.
Personality Traits I abhor the greed of my house. Despite my birth, I do not place myself above other folk. We all have the same blood. Ideals Common Good. My house serves a vital function, and its prosperity will help everyone. (Good) Bonds I believe my house needs to evolve to survive, and I need to lead that change. Flaws I sometimes overestimate my abilities due to years of being sheltered by my family
Human Wizard [Guild Artisan]
Trained in the forgeholds of House Cannith, you have spent your life putting your Mark of Making to good use. You always have the best interests of House Cannith at heart.
Personality Traits I don’t part with my money easily and will haggle tirelessly to get the best deal possible. I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing right. I can’t help it — I’m a perfectionist. Ideals People. I’m committed to the people I care about, not to ideals. (Neutral) Bonds The workshop where I learned my trade is the most important place in the world to me. Flaws I’ll do anything to get my hands on something rare or priceless.
Half-Elf Storm Sorcerer [House Agent (Lyrandar)]
Though the Mark of Storm is on your skin, House Lyrandar does not own your soul. You are as free as the storm that flows through your veins—as wild and as dangerous.
Personality Traits I fall in and out of love faster than the weather changes. I have no patience for people who think they can boss others around. Ideals Emotion. My heart tells me what it needs. All I have to do is listen and act accordingly. Bonds I don’t care about the house as a whole, but I would do anything for my old mentor. Flaws I’m concealing a secret that could get me driven from my house.
Kalashtar Celestial Warlock [Far Traveler]
Many kalashtar look forward to a new age, when il-Yannah, the Great Light, will rise dominant once again. Through your divine magic, you invoke the first age of light, before the Dreaming Dark had come into being.
Personality Traits I apply dream logic to mundane situations. I prefer using telepathy over speaking aloud. Ideals Reserved. As someone new to these strange lands, I am cautious and respectful in my dealings. (Lawful) Bonds The evil forces in the world must be stopped. Flaws I have certain rituals that I must follow every day. I can never break them.
Warforged Fighter [Soldier]
Fighting for Aundair in the Last War, you learned how to knock people down and make sure they stay down. Since the war ended, you’ve discovered that people pay pretty well for sheer brute strength. You’re capable of more, of course, but war is what you were made for. Isn’t it?
Personality Traits Likes the taste of coal and casually eats chunks of it like apples. Keeps insisting that meatbags should try it. I have a worn, polished spot on my elbow where a friend touched me for luck in combat. Ideals Self-Sacrifice. My job is to save the lives of other people, even at the expense of my own. (Good) Bonds I’ll never forget the crushing defeat my company suffered or the enemies who dealt it. Flaws Steel is strong, flesh is weak. I have little respect for anyone who is not a proven warrior.
