We started our campaign over year ago now and my daughter chose to use the existing Eladrin variant. Now that MToF is out I do not see that as an option to update her character. I only see the option when creating a new character. Short of duplicating the process and adding all her items and info back into a new character how can I update the race on her existing character? Thanks.
That is the issue. When changing the race on the existing character, it only shows the old Eladrin (variant). I only see the new Eladrin from MToF if I create the character from scratch.
Also, I noticed the same issue with my other characters as well. It is not limited to the Eladrin. I tried changing a human character and I only see the old Eladrin as well.
I am using the free sub, so that may be it. I created each character, then invited my players to join. I assume now that they are the "owner" they no longer have access to that material and even I can't update it?
Technically, no you can't update them as you or one of your players needs a Master Tier subscription to enable the sharing of purchased content.
You could, however, unclaimed the character from your player account and claim the character for yourself, update it, then unclaimed again so your player can claim it.
I have essentially a very similar question about this topic. I have a free account, I just purchased the 4 different Eladrin seasons information from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse a couple days ago, and when I try to access if for the new character I am building I do not see that content, only the older (Variant) information. I did see that I have made the purchase so that's completed.
Am I missing a step to have that show up when I am building my character? (it's the same on my phone app as well). Did I purchase the incorrect information as it lists this them as Monster under my purchase, as opposed to character.
here is an example
"MON-2560961 Winter Eladrin Monster Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse Purchase"

Please help, thank you so much!
Yeah, if you bought things called "[season] Eladrin" then you bought monsters. What you want to do is scroll down to Races and purchase Eladrin. Then when you pick the Eladrin race (which will not be within the Elf race group, just so you know) you're able to select which season you want to be in the Eladrin Season trait.

On the builder, you can change race on the Race page.

Could you post theb link address of the builder page here, please? Moderators can take a look.
Not sure which one you need, so here's both.

First, stupid question: Have you purchased the race or have access to the race through campaign content sharing?
If you have access to the race, in any form, the shift is as simple as a click.
If this does not work, try refreshing your browser cache and reload the DnD beyond website/building tools.
None of the MToF races are available. Have you enabled the content sharing?
