Hello!
For my DM's next campaign, she wants us all to be spell casters who graduated from a magic college-type vibe (it's a really cool idea that she's come up with). In my last campaign, I felt I was a bit too gloom and doom, while also not feeling like i was very good at understanding who my character was. She was meant to give off "chosen one" vibes, which I fear came off more as "pick me girl" vibes ahhh.
In our next campaign, I want to be a little less like that. I was maybe thinking of being like Hannah Montana, in which I am a Bard that everyone thinks is in the College of Eloquence with the intention of becoming a politician (since that is what her parents are). However, at night, she is actually part of the College of Glamour, in which she is basically a pop star. I thought this would be silly and a little less deep compared to my last character.
My only issue is how I go about trying to get people to think I am in the College of Eloquence instead of Glamour. Moreover, how can I build my character's spells to get people to think she is not part of Glamour?

Plot Twist:She's double-deceiving, & is actually a Whispers Bard.
Jokes aside, Changeling is the species to go with. Picking up some way to alter your voice would be ideal, RPing the character as being knowledgeable(int) and/or street smart(Wis) in her "normal" persona, then pretending to be less Int, & even more Cha & some Dex for flair when in "pop star" mode.

Always study & sharpen philosophical razors. They save a lot of trouble.
Tell the other players the concept; they'll play along.
If I recall, a lot of people knew her secret identity. But the total amount of people that knew were not telling anyone and helped her keep it.
Write up the sheet as how the character actually is and the actual attributes/skill/spells/etc. Then maybe create a second one that is more "public" that states what she is suppose to be, but use the 1st sheets actual skills/scores
