My paladin recently saved a genie in a bottle, it wishes to give him, since he cant form a pact with it, and become a warlock, a wish
I know the dm isnt gonna monkey paw me super hard unless i ask for something ridiculous and huge, which i dont really want to do anyways, as were all at level 20 and, i have the few things i want, and the one legendary i would like id rather not use wish for
I could use it to get gold to pay npcs for our castle, but that feels...like a waste, what are just some, in general cool ideas i could use this wish for that arent like, uber crazy?
A common wish is for the Genie to perform a higher level spell for you once. Or you could ask for the knowledge or ability to cast a low level spell as an ability. Don't be greedy, and word it very carefully.
I have seen a player in character wish for the "Feat" Fey Touched which basically granted him a free feat, while his character received something that links him to the fey realm. Just a thought if you want to make it about story and character arcs.
If you wanted a great excuse to dual class, this could be that opportunity with a great story behind it!
Just remember that all magic requires maintenance otherwise even the most powerful magic eventually fades. The more practical your wish, the less maintenance that is "Usually" required. lol

I am not sure what my Spirit Animal is. But whatever that thing is, I am pretty sure it has rabies!
I'd be tempted to go for an extra L5 spell slot, or a L6 one. That's not OP at L20, but does give you some extra oomph in your fights. Or maybe a special mount, like Shadowfax from The Two Towers?
Alternatively, you could get the ability to become an avatar twice a day instead of once? Or that it refreshes on a short rest instead of a long onrle?
None of that is.going to balloon your power, but it will be noticeable, which is what you want.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

the second one, as in the spell, the spell slot, might be a great idea, but im tempted to go for a mount, that way it can be something seperate from me that can be killed or lost, instead of a permanent ability, that would be harder for them to counter
What type of genie are we talking about? Some options become available with certain genies, while others are riddled with risks. A djinni is often the most harmless, while a dao or efreeti may attempt to enslave you soon or even right after granting your wish.
Perhaps being able to freely and safely visit an important place can be beneficial later down the road, like The Brass City; doubly so as to not accidentally plane-shift into The Sea of Flames. Or perhaps being able to visit their home to maintain a good relationship can make the genie into a long-term ally they can request help from and offer services to later.

Are we talking a wish, or Wish?

If you’re at level 20, you could wish for one of the epic boons. That would seem reasonable to me.
