So I was thinking. Far in the future a battle rages between Mephistopheles and Asmodeus. Having already conquered much Baator; Mephistopheles is proving too great a force for Asmodues, who is on the verge of defeat.
However; at some point in the past, Asmodeus had a prophetic dream, in which he dreamed of his defeat at the hands of Mephistopheles - having consulted a "seer" to devine the future and confirm that his dream was inderd prophetic, he had set about preparing.
He has searched the mortal realm for a powerful female, human wizard, with the ability to control the flow of time. After eons of searching, he finally found such a wizard and through guile, trickery and half backed promises of power and glory, he made her his consort. The pair had a child together. An Asmodian Tiefling, who inherited her mothers talent for magic and her father's resilience and fiendish power.
As Mephistopheles is bearing down upon the 9th layer of hell, Asmodeus persuades his consort to open a time portal and send their infant child back far into the past, where she would be safe.
She does as she was bade and the portal closes, just as Mephistopheles himself breaks down the door to throne room.
In the past, an infant Tiefling materialises from a time portal in the middle of forest, where she is stumbled upon by a old human Druid who has always wanted a child but has never been able to have one.
The character is adopted by this Druid -- who doesn't know what or who she truly is - and raised by her, learning druid craft and how to live in harmony with nature.
When she is 17, her adoptive mother passed away of old age and never been truly accepted by the rest of tribe (because of her often uncontrollable magic bursts); our character decides to set out on her own, to see what lies beyond the boarders of the forest.
Her hopes are that beyond the boarders or her home, she will find others that are like herself - and perhaps find someone who can teach her control her magic.
She doesnt know who she really is or where her magical ability comes from. She's been told she is a Tiefling and that there are others like her (not quite but nobody actually knows who she is) - so she knows there are other Tieflings out there, though she has never met one and her hope is that somebody like her can teach her to control herself.
Because she was raised by Druids however; she is going to be a Druid, with a natural talent for magic that sometimes gets out of control - especially when she's angry. When she's angry, she unconsciously releases a magic burst that is the physical representation of her rage
That burst makes no distinction between friend or foe, which is why the rest of her tribe never really accepted her.
