Other than going into each individual character's sheet, is there a way for the DM to level up all players at once? E.g., an "add a level" or "add experience" type button?
As of right now, there is not. You have to do each character individually. That being said I have my players do it themselves since most of the time a level comes with something they need to pick themselves like an ASI, new spells, etc.
I'm DMing for a party that includes a 6-year-old who's never played before. I'd rather have control over that facet of gameplay to prevent him from doing what 6-year-olds do and attempting to beat the system.
For the record, he's loving playing, I just don't want to give him access to manage his own levels.
Haha, I completely understand where you're coming from with that. At least it eases the troubles since it's only one character you have to level / give XP to yourself.
On a maybe helpful note - currently in progress on the dndbeyond feature roadmap is the beta revision for the encounter builder & a combat tracker. It is entirely possible, though I have no idea, that with the combat tracker will be some way of adding XP to all characters involved once combat is over since it can import characters and has integrated character details.
You may also want to visit the request and vote for new features thread and request the possible addition of rewarding XP to all characters within the combat tracker. I know in the upcoming column we have the digital DM's screen. It's also possible something could show up there.

Something I used to do was put the exp in public notes of a campaign. Everybody's number should match.
