As written, the rules say when you shift that items can be bonded to the form.. does this work both ways? Can I put barding on my bear form and shift back and have the barding disappear only to be ready when I shift back to bear?
That would be up to your GM to decide. It would seem reasonable that since your normal gear gets absorbed that your form gear would get absorbed as well. But again, talk to your GM about it.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
If I were DMing, I'd make any barding or saddlebags either hang loosely or appear beside you to prevent players from trying to exploit it for extra or hidden inventory.
