Hey I've been Googling like made trying to figure this out... Is there any tool out that that is a basic combat handler? Like a script that handles Player turns, AC, HP, and threat level?
Have you looked into apps to handle that until DnDB puts one out? I’ve had good experiences with Encounter +. Does far more than I figured a free app would ever track for me.
Improved Initiative has worked well for me. It's web based, so OS doesn't matter, and it also gives a player website so that one or more players can have it on a device to see the turn counter as you click through it. Has a lot of 5e monsters already loaded, and you can add in others you need. Can pre-build encounters, and gives total encounter XP. Has a spot for HP, AC, and more. There is also a paid version that does more, but I think it is mostly with the player view.

If I understand you correctly, you want a combat tracker (initiative list, at-a-glance AC and HP for PCs and enemies and the like).
If that's so, I can tell you this has been confirmed to be coming to Beyond at some point (probably this year?).
One thing I am not sure about is what you mean by "threat level", could you clarify?

I guess more like CR than threat level. I didn't know that DnDB was going to put one out soon. I guess i'll just wait till then.
