Here is a letter that an NPC sent to one of my characters - Litten. I would be curious to see what kind of emotions you think this letter invokes and what kind of people both Norah and Litten are, based upon Norah's letter to Litten
My ever-dearest Litten
I don't know where I should start! Let me start by saying, I love you. I have loved you for as long as I can remember. I guess the first time I told you was when I realised how much you meant to me. We have known each other for years now. Once we got together, I couldn't believe how good things were going. It was too good to be true. It was perfect in the beginning. I loved you, and you loved me. I feel like that's the way it should still be.
I didn't want you to leave. Honestly, I didn't. If I could go back, I'd beg you to stay by my side. To know you'd be miles away was breaking my heart, but I wanted you to be happy. I wanted you to make a good future for yourself, for us. Now that I think about it, how could I have let you go? What was I thinking then? Look what has happened.
I know we've been through tough times. And because of that I think we have become stronger than we know. We have lasted a good while together, too. I'm so incredibly sorry for everything that I did wrong. I wish you could just tell me, and I would change it all. You know, though, neither one of us were innocent when it came to hurting each other.
When I said I loved you, I truly meant it. I wanted to live my entire life loving you. We could have grown old together. I know you wanted that. It would have been great. But what happened to us? Where did we go wrong? Wasn't our love untouchable? Wasn't it strong? I sit and think, and the only thing that best explains it is that we needed to be together physically. I want you to know that watching you leave filled my heart with unbearable pain. Although I really wanted to be with you, I had my duties to my family and they would not have understood the love we shared. If I could go back, I'd probably leave with you when I had the chance. Would things be better now, or is this the way it was supposed to be?
All I know is we may not be together for a long time or maybe not ever again. But I want you to know that you are someone I will never ever forget. I loved you, and still love you, and will always love you, no matter what. We've been through a lot. But that love is still there. I hope you find happiness. I hope all your dreams come true. You deserve a lot.
I feel very lucky to have had the chance to experience the love we once had. It's something I will forever cherish. Please don't forget it. I know things aren't the best now and although we may be far apart physically, at least we still have our friendship. That's where it all started. I just ask for one thing: be happy, and know that I'm happy too.
I will always think about you--and us.
All my heart, your ever-loving,
Norah
What kind of person do you think the NPC, Norah, sounds like?
How would you imagine the character of Litten, based upon this letter
What emotions does the letter invoke
Also, if you have any other comments, I would love to hear them and I am looking forward to reading all your responses.

Norah is an Alolan Pokemon Trainer who left her Litten behind while she went to travel to another region and constantly writes letters home for her younger brother to read to her abandoned pokemon who she misses very much.

To me, Norah sounds like a immature silly schoolgirl who thinks that Litten will come back to her after she writes these letters to him. "We could have grown old together..." and "I wish you would just tell me and I would change it all..." it sounds like she is low-key blaming him for their failed relationship and that telling him that she loves him will somehow make it all better and fix it.
As was said above, there isn't much to tell about Litten based on the lack of information, but he sounds like someone who at first was in love, but grew up faster then Norah and realized that they didn't want the same things at the same time.
I honestly don't think it invoked much emotion. The first words that come to mind when reading this are: pathetic, dependent, desperate, lonely, cringy-worthy. It does remind me of a high school romance gone wrong.
Of course, this is just my opinion, and what I got when I read the letter. Hope that helps!

That's interesting
They're both teenagers. Norah also blames Litten for her own unhappiness. "If only you were not this person, if oonly you were someone else, id be happy right now"
Norah is a rather immature 18 year old, trying to navigate a grown-ups world, yet lacking the maturity to really do so.
Litten is my character, so is a lot more fleshed out and playable and left Norah because her neediness, her clingyness and her lack of maturity really drove Litten away.
It is interesting that you picked up on that though.

1. To me, Norah comes across as a teenage girl. Very romantic ideals, somewhat dependant personality.
2. Can't get much of a feel for Litten's character based on the letter. Definitely more independent and adventurous than Norah.
3. Is cringe an emotion? Mostly cringe.
