brought a friend to the one off lvl 7 session someone in my group was running because the regular dm was busy. friend's first time playing. in the 2nd to last combat he casts polymorph on an angry hydra and turned it into a chicken on the first turn of combat it was the only enemy. we carried it to the 45 min trip to the enemy camp where we needed to retrieve the object of the session. rogue sneaks close by the macguffin. fighter chucks the chicken into the middle of camp and wizard breaks concentration. hydra starts killing the gruul cap. hasted rogue grabs macguffin and books it with the rest of the party while the camp is being razed by the hydra. session ends over an hour early
Our group's druid likes polymorphing some of the group members into a giant monkey for utility or combat purposes. Recently, we snuck out to an abandoned barn that was being used as a base of operations for a gang of misfits. There were a lot of enemies, and we were only 4. So we came up with the plan to do the GOKU on our monk, punch a hole in the side of the barn, grab one guy (they were semi partying/falling asleep late at night), and book it off into the night. Plan went off to without a hitch and we booked it into the woods for a good bit. Stopped at a clearing to begin our interrogations. We could hear screaming coming from the monkeys fist as it rumbled into view, then dropped the unlucky wretch onto the ground. First round of questioning lead to some lips that needed to be loosened. Before I, the dragonborn fighter with 5 points in intimidation could act, the monk(ey) {lol} picked up the guy and screams in his face. DM rolls a dice, laughs loudly, and said the monkeys intimdation roll was waay more then double the guys saving throw, and ruled the guy passes out, so we had to wait 4 hours till he woke up. We got bored and attacked the barn again, with the big monkey throwing huge rocks before his time ran out. (so much more did happen afterwards, but goes beyond the scope of POLYMORPHING IS FUN!)
