I was just listening to music when My Immortal by Evanescence came on and I was laying here listening to it and thinking, "this would be an excellent d&d character!"
If I was to make a d&d character based upon the lyrics of My Immortal, what race and class do you think I should choose?
For those of you who don't know the song, here is a snippet of it.
-----------
"These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real.
There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me
You used to captivate me by your resonating light Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me"
----- sinppet of; My Immortal, song by Evanescence.
-----------
For some reason I am thinking of an emotionally misunderstood Devil girl, who just wants to be loved by the mortal races, but looks so monstrous that she scares them all away and having lost the one person who was able to look past her nature and appearance, she she willfully disobeys the the Prince of Lies himself, so she can visit the grave of the one mortal who ever truly loved her and confess to his memories, exactly how she really felt.
She knows that she will be punished for her wilful disobedience, but she doesn't care, because this moment and these words mean more to her than all the powers of hell.
I am sort of imagining her as somewhat of a bard of hell.
I have just invented this whole character though, so what do you think - what race and class do you think that a character made, based upon these lyrics would be?

Fallen Aasimar and a coporial ghost both sound cool. Not quite sure how a ghost could be coporial though, but maybe it was cursed that way by a God or something.
Still sounds cool.

Fallen Asimar jumps to mind immediately, maybe fell from Grace to be with a mortal and now living the consequences of that decision.
Sounds to me like a ghost that happens to be corporeal and living, but that's more personality than mechanics.
Those last two lines suggest a warlock (Fiend or Great Old One), but otherwise I've got nothing.
"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin
