I haven't used D&D Beyond before, but I'm going to be running a campaign in the near future and I think this might be a good tool. But I had a question before I start dropping money here.
Make a homebrew of the race that just doesn't grant the ability scores (note that you will probably not be able to publish it, but thats fine as any of the DM's private homebrew is available to players in their campaign)
Make a homebrew of the class, adding the ASI as a level 1 feature (again, you won't be able to publish, but private homebrew is shared among campaign participants)
Would I be able to modify the races and classes in the phb to create the Homebrews (assuming I bought a copy of the phb here) or would I need to build each one from scratch?
Yes, and you would actually be modifying the subclass that the player plans on taking (full class homebrew is not available at this time)
When you go to create a homebrew there is a drop-down where you can base it off of published ones and it starts off with all of the fields and mechanics filled in.
Hi all,
I haven't used D&D Beyond before, but I'm going to be running a campaign in the near future and I think this might be a good tool. But I had a question before I start dropping money here.
We have decided to move 1st level ability score increases from race to class, following the table from this article. https://www.dungeonsolvers.com/2018/10/01/classes-initial-ability-score-increase/
Would we be able to do this using the character creation tools on this site? And if so, how much work would that be?
Thanks for the help.
