I was doing a thought experiment that involves being the ultimate beast master.  I struggled with the idea, because I wanted the circle of the shephard druid to work so much.  

The idea came to me that if you go melee, you could potentially have 3 to 5 beast or animals on the field.  I knew I would need to go Ranger.  I wanted a familiar and to potentially boost these with some healing and survivability.  I came up with a 1 life cleric, 13 beast master ranger, 6 circle of the Shepard druid.  Although, you could go lore bard for find steed.  Spells of note, guidance, good berry, shield of faith, conjure woodland beings/animals.  This would be for melee, and using a whip.  Animal companion giant crab. Be a halfling or gnome so you could surf on top.

For ranged just thought 5 levels of warlock, pact weapon being a ranged weapon. You could do the chain pact for the familiar,  and the rest being ranger.  

What is your opinion on the build? Would you change anything?
