I want to drop the money on getting the legendary bundle, but I am concerned with loosing all that content if D&D Beyond decides to shut down/Lose licensing. Is D&D Beyond going to offer a safety net for those purchases? Or allow the offline download of the content you buy on their site?
We know exactly as much about any 'safety net' as we do about the likelihood of DDB losing their license, which is nothing.
They would likely not be able to offer downloading as DDB isn't selling the books, but a license to access the books. If they did lose their contract, they'd probably no longer be able to host the content.
But that is all very unlikely considering how well DDB is doing and how much it's boosted D&D in general
Maybe by 2030 we'll have some sort of indication of how much longer the site will last. But right now it is going strong. Hard to estimate the end of a still growing service.
