So, I got a new item today that I'm trying to homebrew, but there´s a feature I can't seem to find out how.
It´s a Holy Sword, and it should add some spells to my Paladin spell list (so that I can choose t prepared them or not). Any clues on how I could do it?
Also, it should give me a couple spells that I can cast 1/day, but when I add a spell, it display it as "at will", and I cant find where to change that. Am I missing something?
Items have never added spells to class list, thus are not designed to. They have always been "here are some spells you can just cast from the item." You can homebrew your background to add these spells as a work around.
"At will" is the character sheet's way of saying via some method other than spellcasting. All items display spells like this (maybe they will fix it in the future). Unfortunately, items also don't do multiple spells that can be cast once each. You can give the item charges and make each spell cost 1 charge and just have to remember what spell you already used.
