Hello, was wondering if a seasoned 5e player would be kind enough to give me a hand here. Want to role a ranged blood hunter but am wondering what races would be best fitting? I was thinking about shifter (swiftstride) with the haunted one background (am liking the background options for haunted one. Any tips or advice for builds around this with ranged play?

The answer to what races will be most fitting should almost always be "whatever you want to play". If you're looking for optimal stats, then something that buffs Con and/or Wis is good. Dex is a good racial option too if you're looking to be ranged as I assume you'd be using a ranged weapon with ammo and not just throwing daggers or handaxes.
Having a high Con is a good idea. Rites cost HP when you're activating them, so the more HP you have the better. (The Tough feat also helps with this quite nicely though)
High Wis makes your save DCs higher for any of the abilities, as well as spellcasting if you go for the Profance Soul path.
High Dex (or Strength) for your weapon attacks.
If you're going for a ranged damage build, then the Sharpshooter and Crossbow Mastery feats are both useful in different scenarios and have different benefits depending on how you wanted to play and style the character.
A dip into Ranger or Fighter wouldn't be awful and will likely be feasible with the stats you'd end up with. Both classes give some additional options and Fighting Styles you could use (just remember you can't take the same option twice, so no stacking that +2 to attacks from Archery!) or open up a bit more spellcasting and abilities to supplement your Blood Hunter abilities.
Some of the features under it aren't bad, but it depends on what you want to be able to do. Ghostslayer is nice though due to the radiant damage and the other features it brings.
Thats a tough one lol honestly. As of right now im split between the 2 because he made this class a damn good class lore wise. I am rolling a ranger type so hand crossbow and crossbow in open areas. Profaned sounds good because itll allow me to be more mixed against enemies and my dm isnt going with just 1 enemy type. But with ghostslayer i feel like i might get a higher damage output which would be nice since im playing with a fighter and a barbarian i dont want to fall behind in fights.

Please take a look at my homebrewed Spells, Magic Items, and Subclasses. Any feedback appreciated.
Is profaned soul that good? Was looking at that order or the ghostslayer order since id get what sounds like a good rite to apply to my ranged attacks
