1st level fighter/ 3rd level Bladesinger second level spells are needed. From a spell book I have already copied Cloud of Daggers, Melfs Acid Arrow, Earthbind. So I need 2 more second level spells and was thinking of Blur for a defensive spell. For an combat spell I was thinking Phantasmal force. But I also like the Suggestion spell. I'm finding it hard to choose between the two.
For a bladesinger I would avoid concentration spells so you can use concentration on spells like Haste or Tenser's Transformation (the latter being the key for boss battles - 2d10 force per hit, advantage to all attacks, 50 temp hp, by the gods this spell is amazing for bladesingers.
So for defensive, Mirror Image would serve you well. Misty Step has uses both in and out of combat and can help you close in on the enemy. However, if you do want to use your concentration then Enlarge/Reduce is helpful in either reducing the enemy's effectiveness or increasing yours - has some minor uses out of combat too, Hold Person to paralyse a humanoid opponent for autocrit is good.
I'd go with Misty Step and and Enlarge/Reduce and on level up take Mirror Image then and consider a utility spell like Suggestion. I'd avoid any more concentration spells until 3rd level taking Haste. If you can get Hold Person I'd consider that as a "copy in" not a "to take".

You have your concentration and you have your means of dealing damage. The suggestion spell sounds like your out of combat utility spell!
