So I bought the Player's Handbook and the Dungeon Master Guide. Where do I verify on the site that it did indeed add it to my profile?

In the Compendium section. If you are re-directed from the compendium to the Marketplace (which show Unlocked! for the purchased content), clear the cache and go back to the Compendium.

They should probably add a section under the user profile which clearly shows the unlocked content books. I would think such a thing would be a nobrainer.
