Alright, so for the past 6 months I've slowly been working a new browser extension as it appears the D&D Beyond team are starting to get their encounter and combat tracker up and off the ground. What's the new extension you ask, while its Homebrew Adventures! Currently the tool requires some knowledge of JSON and HTML but is relatively easy to use and it allows you to create homebrew adventures.
So what am I looking for? While the back end of the extension is done. I've even added three homebrew adventures that I've run or plan on running. Sadly those adventures are Paid/Pay What You Want adventures from the DMs Guild website and I've not heard from any of them to participate, so I will not be releasing those adventures with the extension. Though the extension has a built in way to import your own adventures, so if I do ever hear from them I can give them the files and they can include it in their downloads to use with my extension. I already did the work so why not.
So what I am look for is adventures, if you are an adventure writer or know of someone who writes adventures and would be willing to participate, please let me know! I would love to get this extension up and off the ground, but would like to release it with some adventures instead of just being a blank shell. The extension provides a way to clearly credit the authors and even offers a way to link to the author's personal websites.
So please let me know if you or someone you know may be interested in participating in this project! Below is some screenshots of the extension: I've also included a disclaimer on the homebrew section to clearly indicate that the content provided by the extension is not official content.
I unfortunately never learned any code languages, but am very interested in this extension, and I know DMs the same as me in those regards. Loved your last extension, and I'll be hoping the skill requirement for this one goes down.
Technically the user has to do nothing, either the homebrew campaign will be included or someone else creates it and you import it. You can always create your own, I am working on a simple tool that will let you kinda do it quickly, but its all just HTML to be honest.
I guess you could ask "DMDave" at Patreon. Since he regularly teams up with other creators there to produce adventures including maps, item cards and custom music, they might be interested. He's also working on an ongoing level 1-20 adventure in his own campaign setting, which would be a really nice thing to have on release of the extension.
And I am interested in it as well. :-)
Where do I get the extension? Maybe I can convert some of my adventures to D&D 5. (Most of them were Shadowrun or a german fantasy RPG system)
Thank you for the suggestion, I've reached out the DMDave!
Currently I am not sharing the tool to create adventures publically as I am hand picking the adventures to be included. However I would be happy to work with you to get your adventures into the extension. Once I release the extension publically I will provide a way for people to create and share their own adventures.
If you are interested, we can all ways discuss this more privately, send me a direct message and we can talk more about this!
