I was thinking of the players coming across an abandoned baby giant (the equivalent of a human toddler). Because he is just a young kid, he wants to play and doesn't understand that the little people are breakable.
So, just how dangerous could a toddler, aged giant be?

About as dangerous as suits the DM's needs? And any toddler can be dangerous if they hit ya unawares and in the wrong spot...
I would expect it mainly to be for purposes of lighthearted silliness as opposed to getting the party to kill a baby giant (or maybe not, who knows) so I would say fudge the numbers to whatever works best.

Yes, you're right. It is not my intention to have the players fight a baby giant to the death. I want them to help it, and when they do so, I will reward them with this giant bundle of fun who wants to play with the doll-sized people. Crazy chaotic nonsense that should keep the players on their toes as they try to help it get back to it's kind.
Or at least it somewhere that it will get looked after.
I thought it would be fun to take something like a giant, that is usually a significant threat, and miniature it, to the point where it's a danger, but it isn't going to kill them unless they don't lookout.
Also, to show that even something big and scary like a giant, doesn't always need to be big and scary, and might just need someone to love it and take care of it, and help it along way.
Somewhat dangerous, but perhaps not as dangerous as the worried mother or parents going out of their mind looking for it and who may or may not trust the party that brings it back.
