I do not buy books on D&D Beyond, because I bought the physical copies and it's exorbitant to charge us full price for the digital copies as well. I also canceled my Roll20 subscription a while back, when I switched to Foundry, because I prefer to pay once for a better product that's also an open platform that other people can improve, rather than pay a yearly subscription for an inferior product. I hope that people would avoid the future WOTC D&D VTT because of this debacle.
So I can only say that had I been someone else, with a completely different commercial outlook, I would still cancel my subscriptions today due to WOTC's unreasonably excessive greed.
I hope that, after making a DDB account and, from the look of your post count, not interacting with this forum community for about six years, you feel better having gotten this off your chest here.

Never subbed to this service so I've deleted my characters and will be pursuing the use of 3rd party systems for future campaigns. I enjoyed DMing a 3 year long 5E campaign and some off and on mini campaigns before that but between my exhaustion with the system and the recent corporate maneuvers of Hasbro and WOTC, I will be taking my business elsewhere. MCDM and Kobold Press both have irons in the fire, as I'm sure you know.
For anyone who may find this in future, I recommend:
Old School Essentials by Necrotic Gnome
Troika by Melsonian Arts Council* (or) **
.Dungeon by Batts**
Tunnel Goons and the system neutral dungeons found in Haunted Almanac created by Nate Treme
Mothership by Tuesday Knight Games
Bastards. by Micah Anderson
Mausritter by Losing Games*
Liminal Horror by Goblin Archives**

Same here, I wish I had subscribed so I could cancel, but those of us like you and me and fight back against WotC by spreading the word.
