Hay everyone, I'm new to dnd beyond and are wondering how multiclassing spell slots work. For example, I'm a 4th level sorcerer and a 1st level bard. I thought I would have 4 1st level spell slots and 3 2nd level spell slots, but I have 2 extra 3rd level spell slots. Am I being dumb or is this wrong?
For multiclass spellcasting and spell slots, you add up your levels (or fraction of levels) based on your class, and use that to determine your spell slots.
Bard and sorcerer are full level casters, so you add your bard level (1) to your sorcerer level (4) and look up that level on the table in the section linked above. That would give you 4 first level, 3 second and 2 third.

Thanks man, that really helps. Keep up the good work!
Just to note you can not learn any 3rd level spells but you can use the 3rd level slots to update to that level.
