Dying while Max HP is lowered

Hello all,

If you have been kissed by a succubus and your max HP have been lowered to 5 HP, and your normal max was say 30.

You take 10 damage on the next round... would you be unconscious or perma dead? 

I think I know but I wanted to make sure.

The character dies. In your example the maximum HP of the character is 5. 10 damage drops them to 0 and the remaining 5 equals their max hp. A DM can feel free to rule differently.

If your hit points are 30 and you are going up against a Succubus alone, you are dead.
