During this time of extra staying at home, I have broadened my horizons into more than one game. I am included in a campaign with a DM that has purchased many (or all?) the books and has the membership to allow him to share that access. If I build a character as a member of his campaign and use the "copy" feature. Can I play that character in a different campaign or will I lose the facets that utilize book access I do not personally own?
As a follow up question: My adult children (still living at home while in college) enjoy playing DnD also. If I do purchase a book package (probably will when next code is released), is there a way to let them use it? Or do they need to sign into my account or be in my campaign for access?
I’m interested in a similar question as our group, which is currently running two campaigns, would like to purchase the bundle that runs for about $660 if I remember correctly. I’m curious how the sharing component works if the DM purchases the appropriate subscription? I believe the wording says three campaigns, but I’m unclear as to how it all works. Thank you.

Began playing 1st edition back in the late 70’s and love playing and DMing 5e to this day. We have a great group of players and would love to have someone who compliments our group join us. Would be great if we could add a woman, cis or trans, but are open to anyone who loves the game, loves RP and is reliable.
If you create a character in a campaign and then take it out of the campaign, the character will retain all its current features, even those you don't have access to. However, you will not be able to add new things to it that you don't have access to.
Unfortunately that is not a true statement ftl. @ftl
I removed a level 3 character to play in a different campaign and he lost some of his spell options as a result.
It seems content sharing (If I am getting the benefit) I can only utilize it inside that one campaign, though access to manually go through the books is still available.
This shouldn't be the case; even if your character is removed from a campaign with content sharing, you should keep any known and/or prepared spells from sources you don't own. You do lose access to spells that you could prepare (say if you're a paladin or cleric), but nothing you have prepared.
I just verified this by making a character using the Chronurgy wizard subclass and giving them only non-SRD spells. After removing them from the content sharing campaign, they still had all their spells.
My character is a dwarf cleric with the forge domain. One of my main go to spells is a cantrip "toll of the dead" When I removed him from the campaign that was sharing I lost that cantrip. I didnt evaluate what else I may have lost or not, but at low levels, that spell was my go to.

Perhaps it is a partial loss or perhaps a glitch.
