My 12 year old son has been getting into a bit of d&d with a good group of friends. I got him the core 5th edition books and he has got a couple of figurines. His birthday is coming up and there looks like there will be a really solid amount of cash to spend (like hundreds of dollars). My question is, what is best way forward for kids in his situation? I'm totally out of touch with it all these days but it seems seriously strange that there wouldn't be a heap of online avenues for the game? The age old problem has always been getting everyone in the same house, so has technology got an answer for that yet? He has about 5 friends who would love to play more often from their own homes? Or is the way forward more along the lines of figurines and props?
I'd love to hear what people think is the ultimate setup these days?
Thanks for reading!
