As title says, a bit of an odd question. If I create a character in a campaign, then play it for a time, then UNassign that character, can another player, joining the campaign claim and then own, as in have that character on THEIR "My Characters" section?
I am asking because our group is considering a few little one-shot things, to test character concepts. We want to level from maybe 4-8 a few different race/class combinations, to see what we enjoy and might like for future longer campaigns. A couple don't have subscriptions, so would quickly reach their limit. I was going to just log them into my account for the sessions and let them play characters I have, while we sorted which character we all wanted to stick with and use in an upcoming longer adventure. Once everyone settled on a character they like, I was hoping I could unassign it and they could claim it, for when the big one kicks off.

Ahh. Mhh, I think they can still look at the sheets, so maybe they can just look at them and manual roll. Ok, I will do all the heavy lifting when we level, they can observe. On a similar note, unassigned characters still show as theirs if they create them? That might ease the count burden, if they can create it, play it, then unassign it to free the slot, but hold the character in the campaign?

You can keep all the characters in your account, letting the other players claim them one at a time. That leaves them with 5 char slots of their own instead of 6 to play around with, shouldn't be an issue. It'll be a bit of a hassle juggling ownerships, but it's an option. Alternatively, them taking a subscription for a single month shouldn't break the bank.

Yea that works.
Don't do that - it's against the ToS to account share.

I think when someone unassigns a character it remains theirs until someone else claims it.
