Im starting a campaign where we generated characters with pre-determined stats and race. I got a Piney ( Barskiinned Tree Person ) who has the following stats...
STR 15
DEX 16
CON 12
INT 8
WIS 18
CHA 16
I'm leaning towards Ranger, but I'm curious if anyone has any crazy build ideas for such a mad array of stats :)
Multiclass Paladin/Monk. Go for six levels of Paladin, then Monk the rest of the way. Choose Kensei if you want to keep using weapons (good for Smites) and makes sure to Bump Dex and Charisma. Take the Tough feat for some extra durability.
With those stats you would be effective at anything except wizard and artificer. 12 con is not ideal but serviceable if you do not get hit much. I would probably go wis focussed for the +4 attack to start with and probably take warcaster at 4 for the help with concentration. You could almost eliminate the issue of low hp by going moon druid.
See I can do anything lol. My one complaint with Druids is the wild shape negates my high end physical roles.
Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking as well. Your charisma is also kind of waste if you go Ranger which is why I suggested the Palamonk. That said, a Gloom Stalker/Swashbuckler could also work really good with these stats.
I would say you are just best off going any of the wisdom focused classes like Druid, Cleric, or Monk. I feel like Ranger relies a lot more on Dex, but it is a viable choice too. Druid and Monk are classes that multiclassing helps less with, but if you wanted to focus on the healing side, taking just a 3 level dip in druid for their good healing spells and then going cleric of life does make a good healer.
Taking cleric of life, and taking levels into divine soul sorcerer can be powerful too.
That looks like great starting stats for a Cleric or Paladin. I don't much about druids, but there might be a great druid in there too. Heck, that's also a great build for a Bard with high dex and chr.
Consider this for comparison ...
Your character with racial modifiers:
18 16 16 15 12 8
The last four characters I rolled up (not point buy or standard array, but 4d6 take 3) with racial modifiers:

that is one generous set of stats
I know, its a great set of rolls but in a totally non-optimal arrangement haha. So I'm trying to figure out what to DO with them.

I’d be tempted to go Nature Domain Cleric or Druid.

19 15 15 15 10 9 - decided to make him a paladin
19 14 13 13 12 12 - decided to make him a cleric
16 16 14 13 12 8 - decided to make him a bard
14 14 13 12 12 11 - decided to make him a ranger

Circle of the Moon, you’re correct. But you can also go Land or Shepherd.

Lots of people don't like it but a cleric / warlock multi would also work.
