Next campaign is coming up and it's a bit more on the gothic horror side of things, I wanted to play the face, while having a bit of fun so i decided on "Swashbuckler Rogue". Heres my couple of ideas and if you have ideas of how i should do it better, feel free, or even if you have ideas on how it could be more fun. (We start with a feat)
1. Pure Swashbuckler Harengon - Magic Initiate - Wizard Booming Blade, Find Familiar, (Insert other cantrip here). At some point pick up Alert so that at level 11 my Initiative minimum roll is like 21+ (Charisma mod + Dex mod + alert) because of Reliable Talent saying "....Whenever you make an ability check that adds your proficiency bonus the minimum roll of 9 or lower becomes a 10.." and Harengon straight up just says "You can add your Proficiency bonus to your initiative rolls" and Initiative by definition is a "Dexterity Check".
2. Swashbuckler 3+ Swords Bard 17+. Many skills + JOAT + spells. Probably Dhampir as a race choice.
3. Swashbuckler Rogue 3, Gloomstalker 17 or some mixture of the two.
As a side not, yes i understand throwing in Battlemaster would be good, but I just got done playing one and want to step away from it. What are peoples thoughts on this and what have you done in the past with the Swashbuckler Rogue?
