So I've been running a few sessions of Descent into Avernus and I have to say its a fantastic campaign! One thing that confuses me though is the Neighbourhood crews. They're such an interesting concept however I can't seem to find a list of them anywhere? I know a few crews are referenced in the "Baldur's Gate Gazetter" (Pg.158-201) but it only seems to be passing references? Does anyone know of a more in depth table that exists for them? (Possibly similar to the "Prominent Patriar Families" (Pg.165)).
The ones I know of are:
The Porters Union
Stonemasons' Guild
Butchers' Block (Personally my favourite)
Bannerless Legion
Scribes & Sages
Honorable Order of Moneylenders
Apothecary Alliance
Brethren of Barbers
Wise Woman Weavers
Forgeworkers' Lodge
Revelers' Union
Right Pashas of Little Calimshan
Crossed of Wyrm's Crossing
Gravemakers of Tumbledown
Bloomridge Dandies
Gateguides
Harborhands
Greengrocers' Guild
If an official list doesn't exist please feel free to add context to the list I've provided.
I started this campaign around the same time and my grouo is just getting interested in the guilds and such. So I'm basically looking for the same info!
Because of how there doesn't seem to be a more official list, it might be a slight push to go and create more of your own alongside the aforementioned crews. That's how i interpreted it.
There are some hints in the Baldurs Gate specific backgrounds too.
Some crews I'm creating:
The bakers guild- crews for bskers in town who share info on the best ingredients and cheapest prices.
The Entertainers- an actors guild. One of my PCs was a performer for a freak show until they accidentally murdered the ring leader with their new powers.
Bard Guild- (one for upper city and one for lower city. Just to keep the classism alive)
Aaaand maybe a crew for priests? Like a religious network or something.
Any other ideas i still want to hear them too!
