That's honestly a terrible idea. Funny, but terrible. You should never have something that forces a character to take a particular class that the player doesn't want to.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
The arcane trickster stole it off his arm right as the efreeti was sucked back in the bottle. I gave him disadvantage and he rolled two nat 20's. The genie swore revenge as the botle disappeared.
Actually a level of warlock could be quite useful to an AT. The genie (efreet) would add his proficiency bonus as fire damage on one attack. It provides a bottle ( the bracelet) to disappear into once per long rest for a number of hours equal to double your proficiency bonus. It would also allow two cantrips, two first level spells not restricted to a school as well as a short rest spell slot. Taking a second level would open up some at will invocations that help fix the fact that the Arcane Trickster does not really do magic all that well. Many warlocks have a hate/hate relationship with their patrons :)
If you leave booty in the bottle it would remain there safely unless someone broke the bracelet or you went in again after it.

Why would the bracelet be a bottle though when the Efreet had its own bottle that it disappeared in? And who exactly would be the new master? The efreet they stole it from? Why would he be friendly enough to act as a patron?
There doesn't need to be anything friendly about it. You stole from me now know my pain for the next 1000 years (fluff). Just seemed like a neat route to include some playtest content in your game which I encourage everyone to do if we want to see more UA find it's way to publication. If the thief does not want a warlock level then after a quest to break the curse he gets his rogue level or whatever else he wants. Players need to know that they can try whatever they want but that some actions lead to consequences.
Most warlocks don’t get bunnies or unicorns for patrons. H.P Lovecraft likely didn’t invite Cthulhu to the family cookout. Just because it grants power for it’s own reasons doesn’t make it friendly.
Efretti are fire elementals. Minor ability should be Resistance to Cold.
I would assume that the Efretti is not a noble. So make it something that a noble Efretti would give to a minion. Have it act as a sending stone - the noble efretti can send messages to whoever wears it as well as scry on them. That's the kind of thing I would give him.
Should it be magical if so what should it do
If he has a Cha of 13 or more when the next level up happens he is stuck with The Genie UA patron.
Interesting should it do anything beneficial in the meantime to throw off suspicion?

The thief stealing from an extra-planer being could likely end up such a victim.
Jewelry stolen from an Efretti.
